Jeremy Lee Jordan Farrell, 19, of Jefferson was arrested Saturday on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

A Jefferson teenager was arrested Saturday after missing a hearing in a case in which he allegedly assaulted his grandmother in her Van Meter home in December.

Jeremy Lee Jordan Farrell, 19, of 1000 W. Adams St., Jefferson, was charged Dec. 2 with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 6:45 p.m. Dec. 1 at a residence in the 500 block of Lynnwood Lane in Van Meter, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The deputies made contact with the victim, who told the deputies that Farrell allegedly “hit her multiple times” in the course of a domestic dispute, according to court records.

Farrell “admitted to hitting the victim in the upper arm,” according to court records.

Deputies observed “the victim’s right tricep with a bruise mark,” according to court records.

A warrant for Farrell’s arrest was ordered Jan. 16 in Dallas County District Court and served Saturday after he failed to appear for a pretrial conference. Farrell is held in the Dallas County Jail $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a jury trial March 10 in Dallas County District Court.
