Jill Cook closed the chapter on her years as a Perry Public Library librarian Monday at a reception attended by her many friends and well wishers.
Cook was a friendly lender at the local library since 2007 and developed many friends in the community, a goodly number of whom congratulated her at the afternoon event.
“I thank you all as I enter this new exciting chapter that is retirement,” Cook said. “I will miss seeing my library friends each day, but you will always be in my heart. And the good news is, I’m not dead, just retiring! So, see you around!”
Cook said her love of reading will live on in retirement, and she will still be a fixture in the library’s book clubs.
