John Edward “Eddie” Beam, 57, of Perry and formerly of Woodward passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center West Lakes in West Des Moines, Iowa.
John was cremated, and burial will take place at the Liberty Cemetery north of Woodward Sunday, May 20 at 3 p.m. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering at the Woodward Social Center following the graveside service.
Memorials may be given to his family. Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry assisted John’s family.
John was born Aug. 22, 1960, at Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Roy and Charlotte (Homesley) Beam.
They lived in Magazine, Ark., before moving to Woodward, where John graduated from Woodward-Granger High School in 1979.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his paternal grandparents, John and Clinta (Barker) Beam of Magazine, Ark.; and his maternal grandparents, Carrel and Harriatt (Benshoof) Homesley, formerly of Woodward.
John is survived by an uncle, Robert Beam, of Blue Mountain, Ark.; another uncle, Sidney Homesley of Diamond City, Ark.; and two cousins with whom he grew up. He also leaves to mourn a special friend, Kali McCoy, and numerous other friends.
