Jukebox rocks variety from 1980s, 1990s Saturday

The Perry High School Vocal Music Department opened its annual Jukebox Variety Show Saturday nigh at the Perry Performing Arts Center with the “Titanic” song and the Cyndi Lauper anthem, “True Colors,” sung by the Perry High School and Perry Middle School girls.

Perry Vocal Music Director Jenn Nelson performed a stirring solo rendition of Sarah McLachlan’s ethereal classic, “Angel.”

This year’s show is titled, “’80s & ’90s Mixtape,” and other songs will include “Footloose,” “I Want It That Way,” “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “The Longest Time,” “Edge of Seventeen,” “Jessie’s Girl,” performed by the PHS and PMS boys, “I’m Still Standing,” “Here Comes the Rain Again,” “9 to 5” and others.

The show is livestreamed on the Perry Performing Arts Center Facebook page.
