Karolus earns IATC Academic All-State recognition

Perry senior cross country standout Jaylene Karolus has been honored for her work in the classroom by earning prestigious status as an Academic All-State athlete by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches.

Requirements include having a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher while also posting an ACT score above 28. Members must also have either qualified for the recent state meet or finished among the top 30 at their state qualifying meet.

Karolus was a three-time runner at the state meet in her career, all while laboring as a dual-sport athlete by also participating in swimming. She swam in two state meet events as a junior and four as a senior.
