Friday morning brought freezing rain, but it was warm inside the Perry Perk coffeehouse, where Kin Finer celebrated his 81st birthday in the company of his fellow members of the Society of Retired Experts (SORE) coffee group.
Celebrating the anniversary of Finer’s birth were SORE members Andy Bambrick, Gary Becker, Ray Harden, Lou Hoger, Larry Laborde, Bob Smith and Charlie Thomson, with a host of other well wishers also on hand.
Perry Perk owner Tari Mason, in her sixth year as proprietor of the popular downtown coffeehouse, kept the guests fortified with fresh coffee and cinnamon rolls.
“This is such a great group of people,” Mason said. “We all wish Ken the best today and every day.”
