Knights’ Tootsie Rolls help people with intellectual disabilities

Members of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Knights of Columbus St. Jude Council 1243 will be very visible from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Perry grocery stores as they hand out Tootsie Rolls in their annual fundraiser for people with intellectual disabilities.

The Tootsie Roll-bearing Knights can be known by the bright yellow and red bib aprons they wear that bear the words, “Helping People with Intellectual Disabilities – Knights of Columbus.”

Chicago-based Tootsie Roll Industries has manufactured the mildly chocolate-flavored, taffy-like, non-melting candy since 1907.
