Perry School Board President Kyle Baxter seeks a third term on the board.

Editor’s note: The following statement was written by the Kyle Baxter Campaign Committee.

When we were approached on writing a bio on Kyle, we were hesitant. He doesn’t like to brag about accomplishments. He’s the type of person who will help in a situation behind the scenes because he doesn’t need the spotlight. That is the characteristics of a real leader. He thrives on those around him succeeding.

Kyle graduated from Perry High School in 2002. He attended DMACC Community College for one year before deciding to focus on his business. Kyle is the founder and owner of Accujet. And he presently serves as the president of the company.

He is married to his high-school sweetheart, Mindy, and together they have three children: a daughter, Reese (14 years), and a set of twins, Charlie and Cash (10 years).

Kyle is a lifetime resident of Perry, and his family roots extend all the way back to the founding of Perry itself. As a result, Kyle is a graduate of Perry High School, and he is still deeply involved in the community he is loyal to.

Kyle is president of the school board, a member of the Perry Jr. Jays Wrestling Club and a host of other community activities and organizations. So he spends a considerable amount of time and resources giving back to the city his family is so deeply grounded to.

He also enjoys camping with his family, cooking, spending time with friends and supporting his kids in athletics and other school activities. And in a family where all the kids are heavily involved in wrestling, there is never a dull moment in the Baxter household.

Kyle has been on the school board for eight years. For six of those years, he has been the school board president. In those eight years he has been heavily active in Perry Elementary School parking lot remodel, renovations at Dewey Field, the expansion in the Industrial Tech and shop area, the new Multipurpose room, and is currently very active in the Perry Middle School 21st Century Education Environment renovation.

Also while serving time on the board, Capturing Kids Hearts, PCSD Success Center, Middle School I-Jag and many other important school programs have been added to our district.

Kyle and the rest of the board spent countless hours when hiring the superintendent.

During the time of the pandemic, Kyle listened to his constituents and researched how to keep the district as safe as possible. Since our children went back to school in August 2020, they have not missed a day of school from the pandemic.

At times Kyle has spent up to 20+ hours a week dedicated to school needs. Even while growing a successful business, he always makes time if he is needed by our district.
When you look at Kyle and his family . . . you see Perry Pride!
