A large tree limb fell from a wind-damaged tree Monday afternoon, striking a parked vehicle and blocking Lucinda Street in the 1600 block.

No injuries were reported. A damage estimate for the vehicle was not available.

The Perry Police Department and Perry Public Works Department responded and removed the obstruction.

City crews continue their work this week of removing hanging limbs from storm-damaged trees.

At its Tuesday night meeting, the Perry City Council will consider changing the city’s tree ordinance in order to prohibit further planting of trees in the right of way — commonly called the “parking” — of city streets. Trees currently located in the right of way will not be removed unless very storm damaged.
