Late Sunday house fire fills home with smoke of burning clothes

Perry Volunteer Fire Department firefighters appear to remove a basement window from the house at 503 Warford St. Sunday night, where a house fire was reported. There were no injuries, and the fire was quickly controlled.

A house fire was reported about 11:15 p.m. Sunday at 503 Warford St. in Perry.

The Perry Police Department responded and confirmed the house’s occupants left the structure, and the Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded and quickly controlled the fire.

There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire was traced to burning clothing, according to PVFD First Assistant Chief Brian Eiteman. The fire remains under investigation at this hour.

Firefighters appeared to remove a basement window and place a fan to clear the interior of the structure of smoke.

The property is owned by Adam M. Stout of Perry, according to Dallas County records.
