Lee Bingham, 67, of Bouton passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018, at his home.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 7 from 3-7 p.m., with family present from 5-7  p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1721 Park St.in Perry.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 8 at 11 a.m., with family present to greet friends beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines. Burial will be in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel.

Memorials will be given to Wounded Warrior Project and Puppy Jake Foundation and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care. Online condolences may be sent at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.

Lee Allen Bingham was born Sept. 13, 1950, in Knoxville, Iowa, to Kenneth Eugene and Lois LaDonna (McShane) Bingham.

He attended the Melcher-Dallas High School.

Following high school, Lee joined the U.S. Marine Corps and completed a tour of duty in Vietnam, where he was wounded in action.

He was united in marriage to Christine Doretta Pack in Melcher, Iowa, Jan. 14, 1972.

He retired from John Deere Des Moines Works after working for 32 years there.

Lee enjoyed woodworking, working with stained glass and gardening. He was also an avid outdoorsman.

In death he rejoins his parents, Kenneth and Lois Bingham; sister, Sharon Hoch; and nephew, Ja McCormick.

Left to cherish Lee’s memory are his wife of 46 years, Christine Bingham; children, Michelle (Nigel) Chapman of Altoona, Danielle (Scott) Adams of Ankeny, Todd (Ana) Bennett of Ankeny, Cody (Amanda) Bingham of Camanche and Cory (Kaylene) Bingham of Boone; grandchildren, Zeke and Kalifornia Chapman, Madelyn and William Adams, Teghan and Paige Bennett, Kade Bingham and Kyler, Jordan and Hailee Bingham; siblings, Shirley (Jerry) McCormick of Haslet, Texas, and Harold “Leo” (Connie) Bingham of Attica, Iowa; and a brother-in-law, Michael Hoch of Melcher Dallas.
