The Walking School Bus program at the Perry Elementary School brought little feet to a wintry setting at the 2018 Festival of Trees.

To the editor:

From twelve to 46 to more than 50?

The Carnegie Library Museum volunteers began the Festival of Trees in 2014 and were overjoyed with our 12 trees. Last year we had 46 diverse, highly varied and creative entries and raised close to $1,000 for the Carnegie Library Museum.

For 2019 we’re keeping loved traditions and adding a few new twists.

Fourteen participants have graced our event four of the five years we’ve been in existence, and three local business have participated all five years—Alice’s Haus Dresin, Betsy Peterson Designs and the Raccoon River Valley Bicycle Co.

The success of this event depends on the creativity and involvement of the Perry-area community businesses, churches, organizations and individuals. All are welcome.

In 2019 let’s crash through our 2018 high of 46 participants!

We need your help. Be part of the fun. Share your talent and creativity with the Perry community. There is no cost to participate.

Contact Katie Schott at 515-465-3809 or Laura Stebbins at ljstebbins@outlook.com with questions or to become part of the Carnegie’s Festival of Trees 2019. Deadline to notify us of your participation is Nov. 1.

Set up is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18 and again Wednesday, Nov. 20. The Festival of Trees will be open from Saturday, Nov. 23 to Saturday, Dec. 21.
