To the editor:
What an amazing day for our 19th annual Community Free Christmas Dinner!
So much delicious food donated throughout this beautiful community we call home! From churches, businesses, individuals, our neighbors and friends — the volunteers who give their time, kindness, giving their touch of love to this dinner.
The turnout was overwhelming. We believe we served around 500. We ran out of several items. We try to serve police and some nursing home staff with what we have. Thanks to all the volunteer cooks and helpers!
We’re giving $1,986 to the Perry Food Pantry. How thankful we are to all who donated!
Thank you, Perry, for coming together to share your joy, love and true meaning of Christmas!
I myself feel very filled this Christmas night. It was a good day folks!
