To the editor:
With elections come radio and television ads for or against incumbents or new candidates.
As voters, we need to separate lies, truth, half-truths and rumors — even more so with representatives serving us here and in Washington.
Currently, a TV and radio ad is accusing U.S. Rep. Zach Nunn of voting against reduced prescription drug costs. Drug prices have been rising, so Congress needs to prioritize this. This blatant attack on Nunn is both dishonest and untrue.
After some research, I learned last fall that Nunn introduced a bipartisan bill creating transparency to ensure lower drug costs. Nunn also voted for legislation to reduce prescription drug costs.
It’s a fact that Nunn does not support drug companies’ price gouging Iowans for much needed medicine. It’s just not true.
While sleazy TV commercials appear to have their facts straight — this one is both false and misleading.
Let’s use critical thinking, look at the facts and support leaders like Rep. Zach Nunn who has and will stand up for Iowans.
