To the editor:
We all know someone who depends on Medicaid — whether it’s an aging parent, a child with special needs or a friend who’s fallen on hard times.
That’s why I appreciate Congressman Zach Nunn’s work to ensure that the program remains strong, efficient and available to those who truly need it.
In Congress Zach championed the bipartisan Accelerating Kids Access to Care Act to ensure children on Medicaid can access the healthcare they need. Zach also introduced the bipartisan HEALTH for MOM Act to improve maternal healthcare support across Iowa, especially for low-income women on Medicaid.
Too often, government programs are weighed down by waste, inefficiency and fraud, making it harder for the people who really rely on them to get the help they need. I appreciate Zach Nunn for making sure Medicaid is run responsibly so it stays affordable and effective for the long haul.
This isn’t about politics. It’s about making sure people who need care can get it, while keeping costs under control for taxpayers like me. I support efforts to keep Medicaid fair, sustainable and working for those who depend on it.
