To the editor:
Soon the Iowa DOT will be coming to Perry to change Highway 144 — First Avenue in Perry. The cost is said to be well over $200,000.
Could the Iowa DOT, with Perry’s blessing, postpone the project because of the emergency in southwest Iowa and have the money used there? Is it possible?
Maybe other Iowa cities and towns have DOT projects that could be postponed, which would make a difference for the flood victims.
After all, it is not only DOT money but also our tax dollars.
