Members of the Perry VFW 2060 and American Legion Post 85 presented the colors before the Sept. 21 PHS Military Appreciation Night football game.

To the editor:

On behalf of Perry’s American Legion Post 85, we want to thank all those who made the Sept. 21 Perry High School Military Appreciation Night possible, including the PHS football team, cheerleaders, members of the faculty and the public.

The Military Appreciation Night showed us how much this community appreciates and cares for its veterans. It takes the community to help keep programs like the American Legion running, which in turn gives back through community through service, programs and donations.

For a while now, Perry’s local American Legion building has been neglected and stands in need of updating and repairs, but we have lacked the funds and membership to accomplish this goal. With the help of your donations, we can start to accomplish these tasks and restore the building so that it can thrive and continue to help support our veterans and the Perry community.

A special thank you to Tiffany Olejiniczak for inviting us to be a part of this special night and to all of those that showed their support. If you wish to inquire on how you can help the post,  please feel free to contact us by email at americanlegion85@gmail.com or by phone: Nathan Hoffman, 515-505-2942, or Ron Pratt, 515-321-0752.
