Mindy Farmer, a librarian at the Perry Public Library, was the guest speaker at a recent meeting of the Perry Lions Club.
Farmer spoke about all of the services the library offers the residents of the Perry area, including programs for children and adults.
The adult reading program begin in December, Farmer said, and prizes will be given for reading various numbers of books. A drawing will be held for an Amazon Fire tablet at the end of the program.
In other club business, Perry Lions Club President Roger Niemeyer thanked Perry-area residents for donating 207 pairs of eyeglasses and three pairs of hearing aids to the club’s annual drive. The devices will be sent to the Lions Club National office for refurbishing and distribution to needy people.
