One sure way to get the holiday party started right is a visit to the Perry Public Library’s “A Christmas Story” escape room event Saturday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. in the library’s large meeting room.

Visitors will be challenged to navigate their way out of an escape room with the popular “A Christmas Story” theme.

The problem: the beloved and slightly dysfunctional Parker family’s story of leg lamps, bunny suits and BB guns is in danger because Turner Broadcasting is considering locking the film away in its movie vault for the next decade or two.

Can you imagine a Christmas season without 24 hours of “A Christmas Story?”

The escape challenge: find the clues, solve all the puzzles, unlock the box and save the Christmas classic we all love — all while enjoying refreshments with your escape room companions and meeting new friends.

“There just might be a major award waiting for you!” said Perry Public Library Assistant Director Misty Stout VonBehren. For more information, call Misty at the library at 515-465-3569.
