The recent cold-weather snap has local residents bundling up and grabbing for that extra comforter even if a lack of snow on the ground makes it more difficult some to “get into the holiday spirit.”
With December 25 fast approaching, the extended forecast for the Perry area looks somewhat less than promising for a White Christmas, although that has done little to stop the festive feeling anyone driving through local neighborhoods in the evening cannot help but feel.
It is believed ThePerryNews roving cameras made it up and down each Perry street in the past three weeks on the hunt for the best, brightest or most unique holiday lighting displays. A casual count ended at over 100 homes — the actual number is almost certainly substantially higher — showing at least some kind of holiday arrangement visible from a passing vehicle. Toss in several dozen homes in Woodward as well, and it quickly became obvious the old tradition of brightening the night in festive style is still going strong.
We are happy to bring you as wide an array of illuminated homes as possible, all shown below, along with a short video. Some photos are shown under varying lighting conditions, some from differing angles and some from alternating distances. We tried not to offer repeats and if we missed any particular favorites (obviously we could not take photos of every display in the area!) we ask your understanding.
ThePerryNews wishes you and your family a Merry Christmas and joy-filled holidays!
