URBANDALE — A 10-point scoring edge in the third quarter proved to be enough of a lift to carry host Des Moines Christian to a 46-41 WCAC win over Panorama in boys cage play Friday.

DMC (9-3, 7-2) saw an 11-9 lead after one frame turn into a 20-17 halftime deficit as Panorama (5-7, 4-6) rallied in the second quarter.

The Lions roared out of the intermission, outscoring the Panthers 18-8 over the ensuing eight minutes to retake the lead, at 35-28. Panorama fought to regain control of the contest but could not do so and suffered the loss.

Both teams attempted 13 3-point shots and 11 free throws, with the guests hitting two treys and nine at the line while the hosts splashed five triples and seven from the line. Panorama finished 15-of-47 from the floor in the game while DMC was 17-of-47.

Curran Ingram had 13 points, four rebounds, three steals and three blocks for DMC, with Seth Juhl adding eight points and nine boards and Jackson Waring five points, six assists and four thefts. Justin Groen provided eight points, Braden Mars five, Ben Loverude four and Brady Hewitt three for the Lions.

Kolby Shackelford led all scorers with 15 points for Panorama, with Zach Rizzuti scoring 13 points while grabbing eight rebounds and making three steals. Gracen Welberg added 12 caroms and two blocks to his four points, with Lucas Leiferman scoring four points. Malachi Peasley had three points and six assists, with two points from Dominic Walker capping the Panther scoring list.
