Local scholars awarded Madrid AMVETS scholarships

Madrid AMVETS Post 210 awarded two $500 scholarships Wednesday to a pair of worthy local scholars.

Madrid High School senior Morgan Bruns and Woodward-Granger High School senior MacKenzie Major

Bruns was joined at the presentation by her mother, Rachel Bruns, and father, Chad Bruns, and Major shared the joy with her father, Alan Major. Past AMVETS Post 210 Commander Jim Bennett congratulated the students on their accomplishments.

It was also announced Wednesday that Bruns signed with Sioux City-based Briar Cliff University to play softball in the fall.
