The Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report Monday afternoon of low-hanging power lines blocking the roadway on 130th Street east of Perry.
Arriving at the scene shortly before 3 p.m., firefighters discovered the conduit connecting the electrical service line to the meter at 21253 130th St. had separated from the utility pole and caused the power line to fall across the roadway.
There were no injuries in the incident.
Motor traffic past the rural home of Curtis Hite was rerouted until a crew from Alliant Energy arrived to repair the downed line. The cause of the failure is under investigation.
