Mabel Riley, 82, of Perry passed away Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021, at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials will be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care. Online condolences may be left at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.
Mabel C. Riley was born Feb. 3, 1939, in Chama, Colorado, to Avrianno and Cecelia (Medina) DeHerrera.
She was united in marriage to Larry Dean Riley in Ft. Collins, Colorado, Oct. 13, 1958.
She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
She was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Perry.
In death she rejoins her husband, Larry Dean Riley Sr.; parents, Avrianno and Cecelia DeHerrera; granddaughter, Emily Riley; sisters, Percy Cisneros, Madeline Medina and Lorraine DeHerrera; and a brother, Evan DeHerrera.
Left to cherish Mabel’s memory are her daughters, Lori (Robert Zagar) Riley of Perry and Linda Riley of Belton, Texas; sons, Larry (Susie) Riley of Perry, Don (Patsy) Riley of Ankeny and David (Barbara) Riley of Johnston; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Terry Reynolds of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Rose (Bob) Maestas of Colorado Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
