Visitation for Mae Joy Hughes, 29, of Jefferson will be held from 1-6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26 at the Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson, with family present from 3-6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Dec. 22, 2021 at 5 p.m. at the St Joseph Catholic Church in Jefferson.
Mae Joy died Nov. 17, 2021, at the Unity Point Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
Mae Joy is survived by her husband, Brian Hughes; her parents, Joseph and Myla Alcaraz; and her sister, Jhade Cahilig Alcaraz, all of the Philippines.
Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson is in charge of arrangements.
