A U.S. Postal Service rural mail carrier’s vehicle left the roadway and overturned in a ditch north of Perry Monday morning after it was struck by a farmer’s truck.

No injuries were reported in the mishap, which occurred about 11:15 a.m. on 310th Street in Boone County about one-half mile east of the Greene County line.

The mail vehicle, driven by USPS letter carrier Andrew Anliker of Perry, was traveling eastbound on 310th Street when a Ford pickup, driven by Walter Jacobsen of 46 310th St., exited a blind driveway and struck Anliker’s vehicle, which overturned in the north ditch and came to rest on the driver’s side.

Jacobsen was issued a citation for failure to yield upon entering through highway, according to court records.

The Perry Volunteer Fire Department and the Boone County Sheriff’s office responded.
