Duane and Linda Griffin returned to Perry this week from their new home in Waseca, Minn., in order to check on their house and meet with their friends from the First United Methodist Church.
After dining on pizza for lunch, the group met for suppertime fellowship at the Mandarin Cafe in Perry.
Sharing the meal with the Griffins were the Rev. Paul Burrow and Nancy Burrow, Joe Royer and Donna Royer, Harlan Den Beste and Margaret Den Beste, Jim Pentico and Marilyn Pentico, Doris Eldridge, Cathy Clark, Dan Haymond and Doug Wood.
Linda and Duane moved to Waseca in July 2016 after living in Perry since 1978.
They met during orientation at Woodward Resource Center and were married in 1980. Linda retired from the Woodward Resource Center in April 2016 after more than 37 years of service.
The Griffins have a daughter, Faith (Cory) Nutz, and two grandchildren, Blake and Leah, who reside in St. Louis Park, Minn. They also have a son, Aaron (Mandy) Griffin, and a grandson, Wesley, who live in Georgetown, Texas.
Sun Van Wong, owner of the Mandarin Cafe, kept his guests in high spirits and with full plates.
