Six starters return for the Jayettes, who can no longer be penciled in as an "automatic win" on any team's schedule.

Perry girls basketball standouts Claire Marburger and Maggie Lowe each earned All-State honors for the third consecutive season after voting Saturday by the Iowa Newspaper Association sportswriters.

Marburger was named to the Class 4A First Team for the third straight year, with Lowe making it three straight seasons on the Third Team list. Both will continue their cage careers at college next fall, with Marburger to suit up at Valporaiso and Lowe at Wayne State College (Neb.).

Marburger led 4A in scoring for the second consecutive year with 541 points (23.5 per game). She finished her career with a Perry school record 1,853 points, shattering the former mark by over 500 points. The 5-10 forward was fourth in scoring in 4A as a sophomore and led all 3A freshmen in scoring during the 2011-12 campaign.

Lowe set a new school record with 517 career assists and averaged 6.95 assists per game. She led 4A in total assists and per game assists as a sophomore and while finishing second in total assists each of the last two years was tops both seasons in assists per game and boasted an impressive assist/turnover ratio of 3.22 during that span with 310 assists against only 96 turnovers.
