Post season honors continue to be collected by Perry senior Grace Marburger, with the latest addition to her resume perhaps the highest salutation.

Marburger was recently chosen for the Class 4A All-State Third Team by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association and by the Iowa Newspaper Association sportswriters. She was one of four Raccoon River Conference players to earn All-State honors by the coaches, as Carlisle senior Agatha Beier was named to the First Team and Boone’s Claire Sandvig to the Second Team while Ballard’s Madison Smith joined Marburger on the Third Team. DC-G’s Jenna Borchers also earned Third Team honors. The sportwriters had Beier and Sandvig in the same spot as the coaches, with Marburger the only RRC or area player on their third team.

A four-year fixture on the hardwood for the Jayettes, who were 15-7 overall and 9-5 in RRC play this year, Marburger scored 315 points while grabbing 113 rebounds this season, per game averages of 15 points and 5.4 boards. She had 67 assists and 41 steals while blocking nine shots.

Marburger was 100-of-246 (40.7 percent) from the floor, a clip which includes a 47-of-143 (32.9 percent) rate behind the 3-point line. Her 2016-17 numbers do not include the final game of the season.

During her career the Jayettes were a combined 57-33 overall and 31-25 in league contests. She scored 829 points (9.98 ppg) and had 257 rebounds (3.09 rpg) while distributing 199 assists, making 134 steals and blocking 21 shots. Marburger shot 326-of-954 (34.1 percent) from the field, with a 156-510 (30.5 percent) rate beyond the arc.

She sank 170-of-44 (38.2 percent) career two-point attempts and finished 185-270 (68.5) at the free throw line. Marburger’s career stats do not include the final games of her junior or senior year, neither of which were available.
