Margaret Jean Regina Meinecke, 84, of Perry passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019, at the Perry Lutheran Homes in Perry, Iowa.

According to her wishes, cremation rites have taken place, and a private family services will be held. The burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at Jamaica, Iowa, at a later date.

Memorials will be given to her family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care. Online condolences may be sent at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.

Margaret Jean was born March 16, 1934, in Creston, Iowa, to Nicholas Francis and Mary Agatha (McElroy) Weber.

At a young age her family moved to Britt, Iowa, and later moved Wesley, Iowa, where she attended the St. Joseph Catholic School and Wesley Community School.

She worked as a secretary in Des Moines.

Margaret Jean was united in marriage to Calvin Meinecke at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Des Moinesn Aug. 31, 1955.

She worked in a manufacturing plant in Jefferson and late attended DMACC in Boone, where she earned her nursing degree and then worked at the Greene County Medical Center as a nurse and activities director.

Margaret Jean was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jamaica and of the PTA for Yale-Jamaica-Bagley schools.

She enjoyed attending her children’s activities, genealogy, gardening and going on long walks.

In death she rejoins her husband, Calvin; parents, Nicholas and Mary; along with a brother, Harold Weber; and a sister, Marceline Roeder.

Left to cherish Margaret Jean’s memory are her children, Steve (Lori) Meinecke of Perry, Mark Meinecke of Windsor Heights and J.C. Meinecke of Windsor Heights; grandson, Cory (Michelle) Meinecke of Yale and their children, Brayden and Mason; grandson, Casey (Stephanie) Meinecke of Hartland, Wis., and their children, Easton and Capri; a step-granddaughter, Abby (Al) Juhl of Garner, Iowa; grandsons, Nicholas Meinecke of Minneapolis and Ryan Meinecke of Windsor Heights; and sisters-in-law, Frances Weber of Algona and Roberta Meinecke of Panora.
