A Marshalltown man died early Saturday when his vehicle left the roadway of U.S. Interstate 80 near the 105 mile marker north of Earlham.
Jose Luis Ramirez Cardenas, 32, was traveling wesbound about 2 a.m. in a GMC Envoy when his vehicle left the interstate, rolled and struck a tree.
Ramirez Cardenas was wearing his seatbelt.
The accident is under investigation, according to a statement by the Iowa State Patrol.
Ramirez Cardenas was transported the Iowa office of the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny.
The Iowa State Patrol, Dallas County Sheriff’s office, Earlham Police Department, Earlham Volunteer Fire Department and Dallas County EMS responded.
