The Family Credit Union has selected Michael Brandt as its new chief executive officer. He will take the reins Monday, April 28.
Brandt brings more than 24 years of experience in the credit union industry. He most recently served as president and CEO of the Empower Credit Union in West Allis, Wisconsin, where he was recognized in 2021 as a Notable Credit Union Leader by BizTimes magazine for creating the Change for Charities debit card program.
The Change for Charities program allowed members to round up their debit card purchases and donate the difference to select non-profit groups, with the credit union matching those donations each year.
As the CEO of Evergreen Credit Union in Neenah, Wisconsin, Brandt transformed the small credit union into a top performer, with a mission centered on environmental responsibility.
“It’s a true honor to join The Family Credit Union as CEO,” Brandt said in a statement Monday. “I’m excited to partner with this dedicated team, leveraging our collective experience to shape a vibrant future for our members and the institution.”
Headquartered in Davenport and with offices in Perry, the Family Credit Union provides innovative financial products and services to its members. The credit union was originally founded in 1935 as the Kohrs Credit Union and changed its name to Oscar Mayer Credit Union after the Oscar Mayer Co. purchased Kohrs. It became the Family Credit Union in 1987.
