A house fire in Woodward was quickly controlled early Wednesday.

A midnight house fire in Woodward was extinguished Wednesday before destroying the structure.

No injuries were reported, and the occupants escaped unharmed.

The incident was reported shortly after midnight Wednesday at 302 W. Fourth St. The 48-year-old house is owned by the Central Iowa Regional Housing Authority, according to count records.

Public safety radio traffic indicated heavy smoke within the residence and visible flames in the basement area. The fire is under investigation at this hour.

The Woodward Volunteer Fire Department, Granger Volunteer Fire Department, Dallas County EMS and Dallas County Sheriff’s office responded.
