Minburn’s Independence Day celebrations began on our warm Wednesday morning with coffee and cinnamon rolls provided by the Minburn Methodist Church followed by the annual parade at 9 a.m.[wpedon id=”85410″ align=”left”]

Several hundred people lined the streets for the gala. Local public services were well represented in the parade, including the Minburn Volunteer Fire Department and other area fire departments from Bouton and Dallas Center.

Vehicles from the Dallas County Sheriff’s office and Dallas County EMS also swelled the progress.

Local Democrat Party and Republican Party candidates and officeholders were on hand to shake hands and kiss babies.

Entrants in the annual pie contest and auction had until noon to submit their best pies. The pie awards and auction start at 7 p.m.

A full slate of family-friendly activities was planned to celebrate Independence Day in Minburn.[wpedon id=”85410″ align=”left”]
