Minburn melee tranquilized by peace officers Monday

MINBURN, Iowa — A fight involving five or more people was reported in the 500 block of Baker Street in Minburn about 7:15 p.m. Monday.

Numerous 911 calls were received about the disturbance, according to law enforcement radio traffic, and one of the callers said someone “shoved” the caller’s father.

The cause of the rumpus is unknown at this hour.

A Dallas County Deputy Sheriff and an officer of the Adel Police Department responded and appeared to restore order in the town of about 365.

No arrests were made or charges pressed as a result of the scuffle, a sheriff’s office spokesperson said.
