Clint Luellen of Minburn took first place in the 2015 Super Nationals Sport Modified Championship held Saturday at the Boone Speedway.

“Wow! Just wow!” said Luellen. “I don’t even know where to begin. One thing I know for sure is that I wouldn’t be able to stand up on that stage Saturday without the amazing crew, sponsors and fans I have.”

Luellen said he was grateful to his many sponsors, including Razor Chassis, Friesen Chevrolet, Wehrs Machine, Casey’s General Stores, Dynamic Drivelines, Richardson Show Horses, Luellen Farms, Ron Allen and Son Trucking, Mickelson Trucking, Rhinehardt Excavating, Lorimor Farms, Barnyard Racing Components, Kuehl Bros LLC, KMW Farms and John Richardson Construction.

Luellen overcame 29 competitors to take the championship at the 33rd annual event at the Boone Speedway, where hundreds of race cars and thousands of racers and race fans descend every September for what fans call “America’s racin’ vacation.”

His fans were jubilant.

“The catwalk on turn three absolutely went crazy,” said race fan Jim Webel. “It was such an incredible moment for everybody. Congrats, Clint. You are most definitely a class act, and it’s a well deserved accomplishment.”

Luellen lead in nine of 10 laps in the Race of Champions after taking second at the line. Typically, eleven rows of three cars fill up the grid for the start of the Super Nationals race.

“We not only won our qualifying feature Tuesday, but we also raced our way into the Race of Champions,” he said. “As a kid at the nationals, I would never in my lifetime imagine myself standing on the stage as the 2015 Super Nationals Sport Modified Champion. We have surrounded ourselves this year with the greatest racers around, learned something new each and every time we were on the track, and it has finally paid off. This is by far the greatest achievement in my racing career, and I couldn’t think of a better group of people I’d rather celebrate it with. You guys make me proud, and I am glad I have finally held up my end of the deal.”
