A Minburn woman was arrested in Jefferson Wednesday night after she misidentified herself to an officer of the Jefferson Police Department.

Tarrin Laurel Thomas, 38, of 404 Seventh St., Minburn, was charged with interference with official acts and issued a citation for operating a non-registered vehicle, driving under suspension and fraudulent use of registration.

The incident began about 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of 220th Street in Jefferson, where an officer of the Jefferson Police Department saw a vehicle being operated the registered owner of which was known to the officer to have a suspended driver’s license.

After initiating a traffic stop, the officer “found the driver to not be” the registered owner but a different female.

According to court records, the officer asked the unknown driver “if she would be willing to give (the officer) her identification,” and the “driver identified herself as Krystal Fink.”

The officer then “advised the driver she was free to go.”

Upon returning to the patrol vehicle, the officer “ran a computerized check of the driver and found the picture to not match the driver,” according to court records.

The officer stopped the vehicle again in the 1700 block of 220th Street and confronted the driver with the findings of the record check, and the driver allegedly “admitted to lying.”

Thomas then correctly identified herself and supplied a driver’s license, which proved to be suspended, according to court records.

Thomas was held in the Greene County Jail prior to posting a $300 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a hearing Nov. 4 in Greene County District Court.

Thomas was convicted of interference with official acts in 2010 in Boone County District Court.
