A warm and muggy Thursday afternoon was perfect for the Mini BRR Ride, which started at 5:30 p.m. at the Perry Farmers’ Market and made a circuit of the McCreary Community Building, where riders received free freeze pops.
The Mini BRR Ride marks the six-month countdown to February’s grueling trek.
About two dozen riders completed the loop under the watchful eyes of members of the Perry Bluejay Summer Football Camp, who provided route security while wearing t-shirts promoting Effort, Attitude and Teamwork (EAT).
Perry High School will host Ogden High School Aug. 27 at Dewey Field in the season opener.
Several local businesses donated to a free raffle of fun prizes.
