The incident began about 9:30 a.m. Friday near the 110 mile marker of eastbound U.S. Interstate 80, where an Iowa State Patrol Trooper initiated a traffic stop on a 2010 Ram 1500 after the trooper allegedly observed the vehicle speeding.

Receiving a positive indication from the animal, the trooper conducted a probable-cause search of the vehicle. The search disclosed “two duffle bags and two coolers loaded with raw marijuana, THC wax, THC vape cartridges and THC gummies from marijuana dispensaries in the Denver, Colorado area,” according to court records.

Finch was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $12,000 cash or surety bond prior to his initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
