Overnight thunderstorms snapped a large limb from a tree in the Bouton city park, and the falling limb in turn brought down an overhead power line.
There were no injuries in the incident.
The Bouton Volunteer Fire Department responded and secured the scene around the live wire about 7 a.m.
Alliant Energy was notified of the damage.
