Multiple activities to pair with Blue-and-White scrimmage August 17

Perry will host Greene County for the 87th Cowbell Game August 24, and, in preparation for the renewal of the rivalry, the Bluejays will hold their annual Blue-and-White scrimmage August 17.

The Perry Booster Club will have their Fall Kickoff throughout the event. A membership drive will be held, and Perry Bluejay and Jayette apparel and accessories will be for sale.

The Jayette volleyball team will start the excitement with a scrimmage in the PHS gym at 4:30 p.m.

The focus will then turn to Dewey Field, with the public encouraged to stop out and see all the new improvements made to the facilities in Phase ! of the four-phase renovation project.

A grill out will be held beginning at 5 p.m. with head coach Ryan Marzen and the Perry cross country teams introduced to the crowd at 5:30 p.m. Jayette swimmers and head coach Jean Dowd will be introduced at 5:40, with the Perry volleyball team and head coach John Fulton taking their turn in front of the public at 5:50.[wpedon id=”85410″ align=”left”]

A performance by the Perry cheer squad will be held at 5:55, with the Perry Blue Brigade Marching Band/Drumline will entertain the crowd at 6:05.

At 6:15 head coach Matt Hardy and his Bluejay gridders will take to the field for an intra-squad scrimmage. Hardy is being assisted this year by Ben Coy, Mark Weber, Anthony Oros, Alan Brasch and Trayon Nash. Jason Olejniczak, Scott Seeley and Darek VanKirk are serving as volunteer assistants.
