Perry guard Brendan Ivory launches a 3-pointer against ADM earlier this season.

GRIMES — DC-G had their way with visiting Perry at the Meadows Monday, cruising to a 92-41 victory in their Class 3A Substate 7 quarterfinal.

The win sends DC-G (16-6) into a Thursday game against visiting ADM (13-9), a 60-52 winner over North Polk Monday in the first game at the Meadows. Perry, who will lose 11 seniors — including six of their top seven scorers — finishes the season 4-18 overall.

Perry held a 5-3 lead in the first few minutes, but then went ice cold, allowing an 18-0 run from DC-G that created too large of a gap for the Bluejays to have a reasonable chance to overcome. DC-G led, 51-16, at the half.

Mustang forward Trenton Liebe threw down a pair of dunks (two of several DC-G flushes) to spark the home crowd, and the hosts were not threatened after the first six or so minutes of play.

Alex Thomas led the Mustangs with 20 points.

Senior Brendan Ivory led Perry with 22 points in his final game.

Additional statistical information was not provided.
