Perry High School students start classes Wednesday and will soon enjoy two new facilities:  a new multipurpose-wrestling room and a remodeled and expanded industrial technology classroom and shop.

Work began on the $6.5 million PHS additions in July 2019 and should be finished this month, according to school district officials.

Perry Community School District voters gave overwhelming support to the construction plans in a Feb. 5, 2019, special election, with 89 percent of voters approving the sale of $6.5 million in bonds to finance the new buildings.

Groundbreaking ceremonies were held by the PCSD Board of Directors Aug. 12, 2019.
