Nicolai John “Nicky” Nicolaisen Jr., son of Nicolai John Nicolaisen Sr. and Alberta Mishler Nicolaisen, was born Jan. 4, 1953, at the King’s Daughter’s Hospital in Perry, Iowa, and died April 19, 2019, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 66.
Nicky lived in Perry all of his life and graduated from Perry High School in 1971.
He worked the Carpenter Union out of Des Moines for numerous years.
In 2011 Nicolai and Jane Ann Devilbiss were united in marriage.
He enjoyed working on cars and playing pool.
Nicky was preceded in death by his parents, Nicolai Sr. and Alberta.
Nicolai is survived by his wife, Jane Collins of Perry; two dogs, Tinker and Chewy; stepdaughter, Kimberly (Dave) Buck of Texas; three grandchildren, Chris, Michael and Stephanie; brother, Jim (Joanne) Nicolaisen of Dangerfield, Texas; sisters, Cindy (Kal) Linnenkamp of Perry, Linda (Jerry) Wolfe of Florida, Dianne (Wesley) Twogood of Des Moines and Pammy Nicolaisen of Panora; aunt, Betty Nicolaisen of Perry; brothers-in-law, Virgil (Beth) Devilbiss of Oklahoma, Danny Devilbiss of Perry and Bill (Patty) Devilbiss of Perry; sister-in-law, Jean Devilbiss of Perry; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and many friends.
Hastings Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of arrangements.
