Nicole Marie Spence, 40, of Perry passed away Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, at her residence in Perry, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, Aug. 29 from 5-7 p.m. at the La Poste in Perry.
Born on Jan. 6, 1984, in Perry, Iowa, Nicole was the beloved daughter of Kenneth Spence and Candace (Bailey) Holcomb.
She graduated from Perry High School in 2002 and furthered her education at AIB College of Business, where she studied accounting.
During her high school years, Nicole was active in numerous sports, volleyball, track, softball, dance, cheerleader and gymnastics.
Nicole was a devoted mother to her two children, Cameron and Caiden. Her love
for them was evident in the time they spent together, whether fishing, hiking or
enjoying outdoor activities.
Nicole also had a special bond with her dog, Batman, who brought her much joy and companionship.
Nicole was most known for and well respected for having sold Grimes sweetcorn for several years.
She took on various roles in her community, including housekeeping, yardwork and working
at a daycare. Nicole also served as the general manager at the Hotel Pattee, overseeing events and banquets.
Nicole is survived by her sons, Cameron Ketelsen and Caiden Cechovic, of Perry; mother, Candace (Cerry Shirbroun) Holcomb of Perry; brother, Travis Spence, and his wife, Bethany, of Olathe, Kansas; sister, Kassie Munoz, and her husband, Austin, of Ankeny; nieces and nephews, Daxton Spence, Caleb Spence, Audi Munoz, Declan Munoz and Ellington Munoz; aunt, Dawn Bailey of Perry; cousin, Josh William of Perry; sister-in-law, Robyn Spence of Waukee; best friend and partner, Jeff Cechovic of Perry; very dear and close friend, Kayla Russell of Boone; and many family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Spence; step-father, David Holcomb; uncle, Steve Bailey; maternal grandparents, Don and Shirley Bailey; and paternal grandparents, Bill and Chris Spence.
