Nine people in the Adel-De Soto-Minburn Community School District tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, between Friday, Oct. 30 and Friday, Nov. 6, according to communications from ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe.

The positive cases included one student and two staff members at the Adel Elementary School, one student at the Adel Middle School, two students at the De Soto Intermediate School and three students at the ADM High School.

In addition, 15 people were quarantined as close contacts of the infected students and staff members.

The ADM Community School District had about 1,900 students enrolled in 2019, with about 500 in the high school. The district’s Return to Learn Plan calls for 100% attendance and features many virus-mitigation tactics, such as context-appropriate face coverings for students in grades three through 12.
