A vehicle sustained major front-end damage Sunday morning on west Park Street in Perry. There were no apparent injuries. Circumstances of the incident are under investigation by the Perry Police Department.

The high-summer peace of the Sunday sunrise was disturbed when a 1999 Toyota Avalon struck an object on Park Street on Perry’s western boundary, causing extensive damage to the vehicle but apparently no injuries to the solo occupant.

The accident was first reported to the Dallas County Sheriff’s office and was believed to have occurred west of the city limits of Perry. It was later determined the incident happened inside the city limits and within the jurisdiction of the Perry agencies.

The Perry Police Department, Perry First Responders and Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded to the incident shortly before 6 a.m.

Circumstances leading to the crash are uncertain at this hour, including the number of vehicles involved, the direction of travel and the object struck by the vehicle.
