The Perry Police Department and Dallas County EMS responded to a two-vehicle collision in the 1400 block of Evelyn Street Tuesday about 8:15 p.m.

There were no injuries in the incident, which involved a passenger minivan and an SUV.

A victim in the minvn described the incident as “proof that you can get into an accident anywhere — even your own driveway.”

In a Facebook post, victim Laura Fitton Pieper of 1416 Evelyn St. said she was “pulling into our driveway after a Scout meeting tonight and suddenly — Wham! — we get broadsided. Apparently there was someone behind us, and they lost control on the slick road and rammed me.”

Air-bag deployment occurred in at least one of the vehicles.

“My left hip got whacked against the door,” Fitton Pieper said on Facebook. “That’s gonna hurt in the morning. Poor Jacob is beside himself over the whole thing. Thankfully he was sitting on the right side, because the left side was smashed in, and the window exploded.”

The incident is under investigation by the Perry Police Department.

“Some prayers would be appreciated right now,” Fitton Pieper said on Facebook.
