Nora Sayles Easter went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, Sept. 16, 2022.

Nora Jean Sayles Easter was born May 16, 1937, in Perry, Iowa, to Albert Carl and Eva Irene (Crannell) Menz.

She graduated from Perry High School with the class of 1955.

Nora was united in marriage to Art Sayles on June 2, 1957.

She held many jobs, including babysitting many children over the years, and she worked as a cook at the Perry Lutheran Home.

Nora’s favorite job and one she was known for was a baker at the Iowa Inn. There she was known around the state of Iowa for her very large cinnamon rolls and her pies.

She was a member of the Perry Bible Church.

Nora enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking, attending church and being with family and friends.

Nora especially loved being with her grandchildren. Her face would light up when she saw them coming.

In death she rejoins her parents, Albert and Eva Menz; sister, Verna Renfor; and brothers, Edward Menz and Marvin Menz.

Left to cherish Nora’s memory are her daughters, Kinda (Steve) Skea of Kansas, Karla (Jeff) Ruest of Michigan and Kimberly (Mike McCarty) Holcomb of Ankeny; sons, Kevin Sayles of Churdan, Keith Sayles of Gilbert and Kent (Nancy) Sayles of Grimes; 13 grandchildren. Matthew and Andrew Skea, Cierra Tipton, Katie Dorsey, Brian and Sarah Sayles, Kristy Merignac, Brian Garcia, Kassie Munoz, Kianne Gonzalez, Colton and Chad Sayles and Quentin Mayes; and 15 great-grandchildren. Nora also cherished her nieces and nephews.

Nora is survived by her husband of three years, Jim Easter.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. at the Perry Bible Church in Perry. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 19 from 4-7 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in rural Dallas Center, Iowa. Memorials will be given to Perry Bible Church and may be left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.
