Norma Brinton, 82, of Madrid died Friday, July 3, 2015, at Madrid Home Communities in Madrid.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 13 at 10 a.m. at Perry Bible Church in Perry. Visitation will be Sunday, July 12, from 2-7 p.m., with family present from 3-6 p.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Cass Township Cemetery north of Woodward. Memorials may be given to Perry Bible Church, Perry Lutheran Home and Wesley Life Hospice and may be left at the Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to www.carrisfuneralhome.com.

Norma Lorraine Wilson Brinton was born Sept. 15, 1932, in Ames, Iowa, to William Guy and Almina Mina (Nelson) Wilson.

She graduated from Woodward High School with the class of 1950.

Norma was a full-time single mother for many years and worked at the Perry Lutheran Home for 15 years.

Norma was a member of the Perry Bible Church.

She enjoyed traveling, gardening, the Wild West and John Deere tractors. Her social life was her family. She had 70-some house plants and flowers in her home.

Her faith was very important to her, and she was a loving, kind person who loved everyone for who they were.

Norma was preceded in death by first husband, Dean Laverne Hollingsworth; second husband, Samuel M. Brinton; parents, William and Almina Wilson; sisters, Lois Rittgers and Margaret Elding; and brother, Wrex Wilson.

Survivors include her children, Lorraine (Vincent Watson) Summy of Madrid; Sandy (Les) Peterson of Largo, Fla., Lielah “Lee” (David Banning) Cox of Des Moines, Stephen (Peggy Jo) Brinton of Perry, Helen (Steven) Woodworth of Perry, and Janice (Randy) Patrick of Perry; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many grand dogs.
